If Bill Skarsgard performance as Pennywise the clown freaked you out, you are certainly not the only one. It would appear as though some of his adult co-stars felt the exact same way, even by those who have played a bit of a ‘horror’ villain themselves.
IT: Part II has been gearing up for it’s release, now that principal filming has completed. I can’t believe that we are finally only 9 months away from the theatrical debut. The second chapter in the installment is a continuation of the first film, set 27 years later. When Pennywise the Clown returns to the small town of Derry, Maine and resumes killing children – the Losers Club returns for a final showdown against the monster that haunted them years ago.
Taking up the lead as the ‘Adult’ Losers Club Leader, Bill Denborough, is James McAvoy. Although the actor delivered quite a terrifying performance as The Beast in both Split and Glass, he still found himself quite frightened by the performance that Bill Skarsgard put on while on the set of IT: Chapter 2
In an interview with ‘Good Morning America’, McAvoy recalled what the experience was like working with Bill on set while he was all geared up as Pennywise:
“He’s amazing. [Skarsgård] is terrifying. He’s a lovely guy, and yet he really freaked me out. I remember standing there with the rest of the cast, all these adults, and we’d all done weird, freaky stuff. And we are all looking at each other going, ‘I don’t like being here. I don’t like being an actor today. He really did, he really freaked me out. I never liked clowns as a kid.”
Andrew Muschietti has returned once again to direct the sequel, and has brought an incredible cast along with him. The cast includes Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone and Andy Bean.
Reprising their roles as the children of the Losers Club are Jaeden Lieberher, Wyatt Oleff, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Chosen Jacobs, and Jack Dylan Grazer.
IT: Chapter 2 arrives in theaters on September 6, 2019.
