David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan have been confirmed for the lead roles of Clark Kent / Superman and Lois Lane, respectively, adding to the anticipation surrounding Gunn’s fresh take on these iconic characters. Recently, Gunn took to social media to address one aspect that won’t be included in Legacy: David Bowie’s hit song “Starman.” Responding to fans who had requested the song for years, Gunn clarified that he wouldn’t use it in the film.

The storyline of Superman: Legacy, according to DC Studios, focuses on Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his upbringing as Clark Kent in Smallville, Kansas. The DC Studios slate, as revealed by Gunn and Safran, includes a range of movies and television shows such as The Brave and the Bold, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Swamp Thing, and The Authority, alongside HBO Max series like Waller, Booster Gold, Lanterns, Paradise Lost, and an animated Creature Commandos series. Gunn and Safran expressed their enthusiasm for the opportunity to work with these beloved DC characters and their commitment to creating a multilayered universe while allowing artistic individuality.
