James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy Gains Momentum without David Bowie’s “Starman”

Excitement is building for James Gunn‘s highly-anticipated reboot of Superman: Legacy as the casting process moves forward. David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan have been confirmed for the lead roles of Clark Kent / Superman and Lois Lane, respectively, adding to the anticipation surrounding Gunn’s fresh take on these iconic characters. Recently, Gunn took to social media to address one aspect that won’t be included in Legacy: David Bowie’s hit song “Starman.” Responding to fans who had requested the song for years, Gunn clarified that he wouldn’t use it in the film.

The storyline of Superman: Legacy, according to DC Studios, focuses on Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his upbringing as Clark Kent in Smallville, Kansas. The film explores his embodiment of truth, justice, and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that often dismisses kindness as outdated.
