Harry Potter fans everywhere, rejoice! J.K. Rowling will be making her written screenplay for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them available to fans online immediately following the release of the movie.
The film (and screen play) follows the adventures of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) after just completing a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. He arrives in New York for a layover and some of his fantastic beasts escape. Of course, this spells trouble for Scamander and all of wizard and muggle kind! The film takes place 70 years prior to our beloved Harry Potter series.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them will be in theaters everywhere November 18th and, the very next day, November 19th, Rowling’s screenplay will be published on Pottermore. It will also be available as an ebook at that time.
Pottermore’s announcement says, “A new book from J.K. Rowling is always a good reason to celebrate. But this year will mark the first time the author has published a screenplay, which you’ll be able to buy as a print edition from Little, Brown (UK) or Scholastic (US and Canada), or as an eBook right here on Pottermore.”
Pretty awesome stuff! Are you excited for the film and online screenplay release?
