Under unfortunate circumstances, Pavel Chekov will not be in the fourth Star Trek film.
Following the death of Anton Yelchin, who played the character in the previous Trek films, including this week’s Star Trek Beyond, J.J. Abrams said there were no plans to find a new Chekov.
“I would say there’s no replacing him. There’s no recasting. I can’t possibly imagine that, and I think Anton deserves better,” Abrams told the Toronto Sun.
We can all agree that recasting is awful no matter the reason. But in the case of the death of an actor, I feel J.J. Abrams is making the right call by not recasting Chekov.
What is you favorite Chekov moment?
