‘iZombie’ Receives Final Season Premiere Date

Fans of the hit CW show, iZombie finally have a premiere date for the fifth and final season of the popular zombie series. The show premieres on Thursday, May 2nd as announced on various social media platforms.

Liv Moore (Rose McIver) has graced our screen in many forms over the past five seasons. We have seen her take on many characteristics over the series. McIver’s acting abilities are never praised enough considering she has portrayed someone with agoraphobia, a protective father, an hallucination mental patient, and my personal favorite, a Dungeon Master. Nothing will ever get better than seeing Liv get nerdy. Though nudist Ravi (Rahul Kohli ) is a close tie for second on the zombie brain front. As seen below, Kohli was more than happy to post the announcement on his twitter as well, letting fans know he’s glad to have fans back just as much as we cannot wait to have Ravi back as well.

Over the past four years and fifty-eight episodes, Liv Moore (Rose McIver) has made her way into fans hearts even though the show differs from its comic origins. McIver has made Liv Moore one of my favorite zombies of all time. In many ways the show has forced audiences to look at zombies in a entirely new way. After all, if a loved one turned into the zombie in the same fashion as Miss Moore most people would have a hard time abandoning them.  In fact, I think the task would become impossible.  Where does a line get drawn on how to attain the brains that keep the zombies alive though?  The question has come up quite a bit on the show and we have witnessed the good, the bad, and the ugly in previous seasons.

Moreover the show has created a cast of characters no one can truly deny are worth our time. After all when one has a best friend who has always had Liv’s back even when she claimed not to like Peyton (Aly Michalka) and the best partner to solve crimes with anyone could ask for in Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) there’s not much more fans could ask for. Yet somehow we have also managed to attain a will they wont they dynamic between Liv and Major (Robert Buckley), and the villain we have all loved to hate in Blaine (David Anders).  That is what makes photos like the one McIver posted even more bittersweet.

iZombie is a show fans will miss will miss for a long time to come. The final season has yet to air and I am already not ready to let the series go. I’m not alone in my thoughts as one fan admitted the thought of the show ending made her sick. The best part was knowing that fans are not alone in their thoughts as McIver will miss the show as much as we will as seen in a reply to a fellow fan below.

I cannot imagine walking away from a series after devoting so much time and effort into a character. Everyone on the show has truly made us feel for them in ways none of us ever imagined feeling for a zombie. We are used to see them and wanting to put an arrow or a bullet through the brain. The truth is though Liv Moore will live long in our hearts as she never truly wanted to eat our brains in the first place.

iZombie‘s final season premieres on Thursday, May 2nd on the CW.
