What could possibly be better news for Pennywise and Stephen King fans alike just in time for the holidays? (and the Digital DVD release, may I add?)

Well, the news is quite true my friends! The official IT movie Twitter page has recently announced the happy news that the film has joined a list of nominations at the Critics Choice Awards in the category of ‘Best Sci-Fi or Horror Movie’.

The King readaptation will be competing against films such as Blade Runner 2049, Get Out and The Shape of Water for the award.

Released back in September, IT scored $695.7 million at the box office and it received raving reviews from critics all across the board – even earning an 85% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Even now, fans may join in with the young cast members in speculating their hopes and dreams as to whom they would like to see portray the adult ‘Losers Club’ members when Pennywise returns to haunt our screens (and storm drains) in a few years.

It will for sure be interesting to see what plans Andrew Muschietti has for IT: Chapter 2.

Even Bill Skarsgard is super excited for the film, and is planning on doing a good bit of research before diving back into the character of Pennywise in a recent interview with IGN:

“I’m gonna get through those 1200 pages, I guess, at least one more time before going into the part two of that film.”

IT: Chapter 2 will hit theaters on September 6th, 2019! But in the meantime, let us keep our fingers crossed for our favorite dancing clown! (Well, maybe he’s just my favorite).

If you didn’t get time to catch the film in theaters, IT will be available for Digitial DVD Release on December 19th, 2017 and on Blu-Ray and DVD on January 9th, 2018!
