We have been awaiting the news ever since IT: Chapter One debuted in theaters – and now it is finally here. The adult casting for IT: Chapter 2 has kicked off.

A recent report from The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Jessica Chastain will be taking on the role of the adult Beverly Marsh. Chastain, who had previously worked with Andrew Muschietti in his film Mama, is absolutely perfect for the role. The actress has been in talked for quite awhile, and had been a long hope for fans to take on the role. Even actress Sophia Lillis, who plays the younger Beverly, was hopeful that Jessica would be the one to take on the role.

Another report from THR states that James McAvoy and Bill Hader are currently in negotiations to join the highly-anticipated sequel. Provided all goes according to plan, James McAvoy will play the adult version of Bill Denbrough and Bill Hader would take on the role of Richie Tozier.

This will be quite interesting to see! Hader definitely has the comedy down – which makes him perfect for the role of Richie Tozier and James absolutely knows how to take on that leadership responsibility. In the best selling novel by Stephen King, Bill grows up to become a horror writer, Richie becomes a famous comedian/DJ and Beverly becomes a fashion designer. (Who skill has a mean throwing arm – mind you!)

The sequel will feature the kids all grown-up and forced to return to Derry,  to take on the wicked Pennywise who has returned to continue his wicked deeds. The sequel is also said to include new scenes showing the kids as they struggle with the aftermath of the first movie.

Andy Muschietti will direct the sequel, with Gary Dauberman working on the script, and Bill Skarsgard will be reprising his role as Pennywise.

It: Chapter 2 hits theaters on September 6, 2019.
