Hulu’s ‘Runaways’ and ‘Future Man’ are Coming Back for Season 2

Fresh off of a great night at the Golden Globes with The Handmaid’s Tale walking away with two huge awards, Hulu is certainly feeling very confident about their other original programming. The streaming giant just announced today that both Marvel’s Runaways and Future Man have been picked up for 13-episode second seasons.

The team that brought us the dramatic (and addicting) teen soap The O.C. is at it again with Marvel’s Runaways, which follows six teenagers, who had a huge falling out after the death of a close friend and must rebuild relationships and come together as a team after learning a huge secret about their parents.  It was created by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona and is at the helm of showrunners Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. It stars  Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner, Ariela Barer, Gregg Sulkin and Allegra Acosta.

The series has been relatively well-received by critics and audiences with a lot of fans pointing out its faithfulness to the comics and excellent casting. It currently holds an 83% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Future Man, which stars Hunger Games alum Josh Hutcherson, was also picked up for a 13-episode second season. The show follows Josh Futturman (Hutcherson), who lives out his days as a janitor and his nights as a gamer until he is recruited to travel through time to protect humanity from becoming extinct.

The series was created by Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir and also stars Eliza Coupe, Derek Wilson, and Haley Joel Osment. Produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the show has impressed critics thanks to its welcomed combination of nostalgia, comedy, and sci-fi. It currently holds a 77% on Rotten Tomatoes.
