It doesn’t matter where you are, if you are a fan of the HBO series Game of Thrones, you know quite well that winter is coming and in some regions…winter is here.
Whether you want to prevent yourself from freezing, cosplay as your favorite Game of Thrones character for a convention or add extra flair to your Halloween costume, you will need the perfect accessory – a shaggy cape. And where can you get this said cape? Well, look no further than to your local Ikea retailer. They have got you covered…literally!
Ikea recently released an instruction manual on how to make one of the shaggy Sheepskin rugs that they sell into a cape in the same way that the series’ costume designer Michele Clapton designed the the capes for the men of the Night’s Watch.

Instructions come without text as do all Ikea manuals but the pictures seem very easy. Basically, purchase a shag rug, cut a slit in it, cut a hole for your neck and head and there you have it, a cape fit for The King of the North…or Queen.
