House Of The Dragon: Will Rhaenyra And Daemon Get Married?
House of Dragon began planting the seeds for a potential relationship between Rhaenyra Targaryen and her uncle, Daemon, early in the first season. Yes, they have a terrible relationship. Yes, they are very directly related. And yes, Daemon is a horrible abuser and manipulator. That doesn’t imply that they won’t end up together in House of the Dragon, and it’s more than likely going to happen sooner rather than later.

The family of House Targaryen has long encouraged marriages within the family in order to keep its bloodline “pure,” regardless of how unusual it is in Westeros. Aegon the Conqueror conquered Westeros while married to both of his sisters. This isn’t anything new for the Targaryens, but it doesn’t make it any easier for those around them.
Daemon unsuccessfully tried to persuade both Viserys and Rhaenyra that he and his niece should get married. He didn’t make a very good impression, especially after leaving Rhaenyra at a brothel. Although, things changed after the time jump in the most recent episode of House of the Dragon.
In the episode, Laena, Daemon’s wife, committed suicide by dragon fire during a risky delivery. Rhaenyra is still married to Laenor, Laena’s brother, but it won’t last long. In Fire & Blood, the book on which House of the Dragon is based, Laenor and Laena perish within a year of one another. In House of the Dragon, which creates a scenario where Daemon and Rhaenyra might reunite, Laenor does not live much longer.
Rhaenyra has a tumultuous history with Daemon, which is understandable. However, he will provide her a solution soon. Her children’s legitimacy has been challenged, which is correct since Harwin Strong unquestionably was their father. Any children she and Daemon create would have a very powerful claim to the Iron Throne. She may believe that only by sleeping with Daemon can she reclaim power from Alicent.
When Will Rhaenyra and Daemon Get Married?
Rhaenyra and Daemon cannot marry until after Laenor’s death, which is close to happening on the show. However, taking into account the book’s timeline, it won’t be long before that happens. Before the first season comes to a close, the two will almost certainly get married.
