The Fourth of July wouldn’t be complete without a patriotic message from the President of the United States. That’s why Netflix’s House of Cards new President Underwood took some time out of her day to deliver such a message to the American people, however, there is a twist
In the below video posted to the House of Cards social media accounts, Claire Underwood (played by Robin Wright) sits in thrown-like seat drawing imagery reminiscent of the Lincoln Memorial. In the video, she directly addresses the American public by saying, “Happy Independence Day… to me!” As the camera shot pans out and fades to black, the words, “#MyTurn,” appear on the screen indicating that she will finally be taking over the Commander-in-Chief. Check out the video below:
The upcoming sixth season will be the last for House of Cards. The season will focus on Claire as the new President and, in addition to Wright, will also star Greg Kinnear, Diane Lane, Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Patricia Clarkson, Constance Zimmer, Derek Cecil, Campbell Scott, Boris McGiver, and Cody Fern.
House of Cards executive producers are Melissa James Gibson, Frank Pugliese, Robin Wright, David Fincher, Joshua Donen, Dana Brunetti, Eric Roth, Michael Dobbs and Andrew Davies.
