All of the Potterheads gathered on September 1, 2017, to celebrate the exact day that Harry returned to Platform Nine and Three-Quarters in the epilogue of Deathly Hallows.
Author J.K. Rowling kicked off the day with this tweet:
Today’s the day Albus Severus Potter boards the Hogwarts Express at King’s Cross for the first time #19yearslater ⚡️
— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) September 1, 2017
And from there the devoted fan base took to social media to express their love and gratitude for the series and just what the day meant for them.
Such a special day! 😭 Thank you for creating this wonderful, magical world, it means so much to so many of us! ✨❤️✨ #19yearslater

The Harry Potter fans have always been some of the most delightful fans to watch. They grew up with this series and carry so much love and adoration for it as they pass it along to younger generations. It truly is a wonderful thing and it was awesome to see all of the support and love that came out on September 1.
All is well.
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
