Harry Potter Stars Explain How They Almost Quit Before Final Films

With the Harry Potter franchise coming to an end, it’s not surprising that many harry potter fans are feeling nostalgic with the upcoming HBO special arriving next week.

Some Harry potter stars have even revealed they almost quit the series early on in their career out of fear of typecasting. Ahead of HBO’s celebratory Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special, we thought it would be appropriate to take a look at what some harry potter actors were thinking when they first started filming and what made them want to stay with the series.

Harry Potter stars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson recently revealed that they both considered quitting the franchise during its early years. Grint said that he remembers Watson telling him, “You were considering pulling out, I’ve never really spoken to you about that.”

“I think I was scared,” Watson replied, “I don’t know if you ever felt like it got to a tipping point when you were like, this is kind of forever now.”

“I also had kind of similar feelings to Emma, kind of contemplating what life would be like if I called it a day. But we never really spoke about it, I guess we were just kind of going through it at our own pace, and we were kind of in the moment at the time. How great is that?”

Watson’s crush on Felton, according to previews, was one of the episode’s many surprises. According to ET Canada, Watson has made her feelings for Draco Malfoy evident. But, “he was three years above me and so for him he was like, ‘You’re like my little sister’.”

Felton felt that way too. “I became very protective over her,” he said, “Yeah, I’ve always had a soft spot for her and that continues to this day.”

The premiere date for HBO Max’s Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts is January 1.

But before Harry leaves, he learns that the witches and wizards who live in the magical world live in secret because they fear being persecuted by muggles since muggles are ordinary people who can’t do magic. Harry is, of course, excited to be a part of this magical world and Harry spends his years at Hogwarts learning about spells, potions, and everything else he needs to know in order to survive the wizarding world.

While Harry Potter was a good movie, it wasn’t until Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets that Harry Potter really began to take off. Harry Potter is a fun and entertaining series that everyone in the world should watch and read. Harry Potter will continue to be loved for many years to come and I’m sure we haven’t even heard the last of harry potter yet!
