Harley Quinn Spin-Off Gets a Title
After what seems like decades of waiting, Margot Robbie has finally revealed the full title of her Harley Quinn spin-off movie, Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). Yes, confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, this will in fact be the actual title of the film. Robbie stole every scene she was in, in 2016’s Suicide Squad where she stared as the femme fatale antihero, Harley Quinn. Audiences responded very well to Robbie’s portrayal of the character and wanted to see the character again and since then, the fans have been waiting on any and all information from this spinoff that was at first just a mere rumor.
The plot of Birds of Prey that we know so far according to IMDB.com will involve not only Harley but also; Huntress, Black Canary and enemy of Batman, super villain Black Mask. It is also mentioned that this film will take place after Harley leaves the Joker however, if a fan of the duo you will realize that Harley left Joker about a dozen times so timeline wise, this really does not give audiences a whole lot to go on. Let us not forget that Jared Leto’s Joker does have two more movies that have been announced; a stand alone Joker and a Harley Quinn/Joker duo film. So once again, the plot summary does not reveal a whole bunch of information regarding timeline.
It is refreshing to see that coming soon will be a movie where the women dominate and save the day for once, even if they have some attitude and maybe don’t always make the best choices. There is so much that can be done with these strong female leads I for one am excited to see what can come from this spin-off and expansion into Harley Quinn’s universe over the next few years.
