Stephen Adam Amell was born on this day in 1981 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is best known for his role as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow in Arrow and Casey Jones in TMNT: Out of the Shadows.
Cousin to Robbie Amell, Stephen started off his acting career appearing in 2 episodes of Queer as Folk. He played Adam in Dante Cove’s first season and had recurring roles in Heartland and Da Kink in My Hair. In December of 2010, he joined the cast of The Vampire Diaries as ‘Brady’ for 2 seasons. In 2011, Amell appeared in season 3 of Hung, the 4th season of 90210, a Christmas episode of New Girl, a recurring role on ABC’s Private Practice and played Travis Blue in Blue Mountain State.
In the beginning of 2012, Amell was cast in the title role for CW’s Arrow based on the comic book character Green Arrow.
His film appearances include starring as Joran van der Sloot in Lifetime’s Justice for Natalie Holloway (2011) and as Casey Jones in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016).
Amell is married to model/actress Cassandra Jean and the couple have a daughter, Mavi, born in 2013.
