Christopher Michael Pratt was born in 1979 in Virginia, Minnesota. While living in Maui, Hawaii, Pratt lived out of a van and slept in a tent on the beach. in an interview with The Independent, he had the following to say about his then situation,

“It’s a pretty awesome place to be homeless. We just drank and smoked weed and worked minimal hours, just enough to cover gas, food, and fishing supplies.”

He was noticed by actress/director Rae Dawn Chong while waiting tables. She hired him for her horror movie short Cursed Part 3.

His first regular television role was in Everwood where he played the role of Harrold Abbott. After the show canceled, he went on to join the fourth season of The O.C.
