In 2016 Hans Zimmer announced that he would officially retire from writing new scores in superhero movies. The news came in yesterday on the official website of the German composer that made the old statement invalid. Hans Zimmer is officially writing the score to Wonder Woman 1984.

I am certainly not complaining, and it only makes sense that he would continue to do the second movie of Wonder Woman, as he made the iconic Wonder Woman theme in the Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice where the hero made her first appearance.

Hans Zimmer is known for his work in the superhero movie industry, like The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the Batman Nolan trilogy, and Man Of Steel. Of course, he is also known for his music in Pirates Of The Carribean, Gladiator, The Last Samurai, and Dunkirk.

Many fans on the website have also shown that they are ecstatic about the composer returning to the superhero movies. Maybe he just needed a break from them to realize he’s extraordinarily good at making soundtracks for superhero films! What do you think of Hans Zimmer returning to superhero movies after all? Let us know in the comments below.

Wonder Woman‘s Patty Jenkins will return to direct the second movie, just like Gal Gadot will return in her role as Wonder Woman, and Chris Pine as Steve Trevor. The film also added Kristen Wiig as Cheetah, and Pedro Pascal‘s character is still unknown.

We still have to wait over a year, as Wonder Woman 1984 is set to hit theaters on November 1, 2019.
