The eagerly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is now in its final weeks of filming, with production taking place in Atlanta, Georgia and London, England. Everyone you’d expect to see returns for the conclusion of James Gunn’s intergalactic tale, though it appears that certain popular characters may not make it through the end of the film.
Nebula, the favorite character of many fans, is looking to be put through the ringer. We should see a different side of the character following Avengers: Endgame and Thanos’ death. Her burden having been relieved from her shoulders after Avengers: Endgame, it appears she has reconciled with Earth’s heroes.
But, as indicated in an Instagram story, trouble is coming. Check out Gillan’s latest Instagram update:
With her cyborg nature making her one of the Guardian’s toughest members, Nebula has previously undergone significant damage. Even so, all who’ve read Gunn’s script agree that it’s a tearjerker, and this may well be the last time we see Gillan in the role.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is scheduled for release on May 5, 2023, though we’re getting the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special later this year that should fill some of the gaps between Avengers: Endgame, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Vol. 3. The Holiday Special is being filmed at the same time as Vol. 3 and will air on Disney Plus this December.
Let’s hope that Gunn delivers another masterpiece in what may be his final Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance.
