Gotham has been filming its fifth and final season over the past few months, and it looks like the cast is close to wrapping on the series forever.
Bruce Wayne actor David Mazouz shared a photo with his cast mate Sean Pertwee Monday with the caption, “Last tableread of an era.”
We learned in May just before the season 4 finale, that Gotham would be coming to an end at the fifth season, and will come with a shortened episode order.
The final season is said to be following the events of the finale, which ended with the city of Gotham destroyed and trapped by a bunch of bomb explosions. It’s a combination of the Batman No Mann’s Land story line and “Zero Year” by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo.
Perhaps the most anticipated part of the finale, however, is Bruce Wayne finally coming into his own as the one and only Batman: The destined protector of Gotham. Supervillain Bane will also appear for the first time in the finale season.
Gotham stars David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock, Robin Lord Taylor as Penguin, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle, and Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth.
The final season of Gotham will premiere on March 15, 2019.
