“Thank you being a friend” – Andrew Gold, writer of the iconic theme song.
Who doesn’t love a good cheesecake? Well soon, you and your friends can share one when a Golden Girls themed cafe opens up in Mahattan later this summer.
You heard that right!
The cafe, which will be called Rue La Rue Cafe, will honor the late Rue McClanahan who played Blanche Devereaux on the show. The cafe is owned by Rue’s close friend Michael J. LaRue.
There isn’t much else to say at the moment, but fans will be able to help to make decisions about the design, menu, and what to display in the cafe.
Betty White, who played Rose Nylund on the show will attend the ribbon cutting ceremony.
For more information, you can follow the official Rue McClanahan Memorial Page on Facebook.
Rue La Rue Cafe will be located on 4396 Broadway in Washington Heights and will officially open in September.
