Gina Carano: Slams ‘Double Standards’ from Disney/ABC after Whoopi Goldberg Suspension Instead of Firing

Many are recalling Gina Carano and The Mandalorian’s firing saga now due to Whoopi Goldberg’s recent controversy, as well as how each of the two handled very different repercussions.
Earlier in the week, Goldberg had stated on The View that the Holocaust was “not about race,” causing a storm of protest. While apologizing on social media and during a broadcast, ABC announced that she would be suspended for two weeks.
Lucasfilm, which is a Disney company (and thus ABC) took a different strategy when Carano was criticized for her social media posts that comnpared being a modern right-winger in the United States to being treated like Jews during the Holocaust.
After backlash on social media mounted against the actress, Lucasfilm terminated its relationship with Carano, removing her from her position as Cara Dune on The Mandalorian.
The name of Carano has been trending on social media as her supporters compare the situations. Carano herself has made some official statements. Carano initially tweeted a simple message that said, “Two weeks to slow the double standards.”
“I want to send blessings & love out to the Jewish community,” Carano says in a follow-up tweet. “When I was being smeared, cancelled & misunderstood, it was a Jewish man Ben Shapiro who reached out & asked if I’d like to talk about it. Maybe Whoopi Goldberg could talk to Ben. Conversation over cancellation.”

After Gina Carano left The Mandalorian, Ben Shapiro rushed to contact her immediately to work on new movies produced by The Daily Wire following her dismissal from the program.
She’s working on another project right now, Terror on the Prairie, a Western film due out later this year. Carano will also produce and star in White Knuckle, a road thriller that has been compared to Breakdown in terms of its modernity.
Carano will headline the upcoming My Son Hunter biopic, which is being made without Biden’s consent. The movie, directed by Robert Davi and based on a book by Mark Preston, follows Biden’s alleged scandalous lifestyle with Carano playing one of his Secret Service agents. Laurence Fox (Lewis) will play Hunter Biden.
“The story, the cast, the crew, the people, this is what makes art great and this is what we’re doing,” Carano said of her casting on that movie, per Deadline. “I feel excited to be working with incredible actors, a visionary director and some newfound friends as producers. The script was instantly intriguing and side achingly hilarious to me, especially after being newly exposed to the political realm in 2020.”
