Get Ready for The Walking Dead as We Get an Exciting Update on the Rick and Michonne Spinoff!

For devotees of The Walking Dead, rejoice–it’s time for a large update on the Rick and Michonne spinoff!

In July 2022, Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira astonished the audience at San Diego Comic-Con International by announcing the Richonne series.

The upcoming six-episode miniseries will be a long-awaited reunion of Lincoln and Gurira’s characters Rick and Michonne, as it marks the end for their narrative arcs.

At the beginning of January, Gurira took to Instagram with three snapshots featuring Lincoln and The Walking Dead‘s chief content officer Scott M. Gimple, a clear indication that their show was heading into pre-production!

On Tuesday, February 21st, The Walking Dead’s official Twitter account took to social media and revealed photos from the show’s set. This news has caused a flurry of excitement amongst fans as they anticipate what Season 11 will have in store.

Alongside a photo of Lincoln and Gurira’s hands clasped together and their chairs on set, the account wrote: “Andrew Lincoln and @DanaiGurira are back on set! The next chapter of Rick and Michonne’s story begins…”

Last year, Scott M Gimple returned to the show running duties for The Walking Dead spinoff and promised fans to deliver an astonishing new version of this universe. He declared that they were in store for a “mind-blowing” experience!

“These are two people that have been separated for a very long time. They’ve lived whole other existences and they have to find themselves again, let alone each other. It’s hopefully going to be mind-blowing,” he said at the AMC Networks Summit in New York in September last year.

In addition to the Richonne spinoff, AMC is looking to expand even further into the Walking Dead universe with a Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) show called Dead City. Furthermore, there will be another series following Daryl Dixon’s (Norman Reedus) journey as he embarks on his solo venture in Europe. It’s an exciting time for fans of The Walking Dead – so get ready!
