FX is Patching Over With a Look at the ‘Mayans MC’ Tattoo

Mayans MC may be taking place after the events of Sons of Anarchy, but they aren’t looking to differentiate themselves completely from the original series. The show is a spin-off and both FX and creator Kurt Sutter have certainly embraced that in their marketing thus far, but as we get closer to the fall when the series is expected to premiere, FX is reminding us that it’s time to start slowly moving towards to the Mayans MC way of life.

Those who watched Sons are sure to remember the season one episode where former SAMCRO member Kyle Hobart did not have his MC tattoo removed after being kicked out of the club. It resulted in the gruesome scene of the men burning it off his back with a blowtorch.

Fans were quick to express their excitement about the upcoming series on Twitter soon after the new teaser was released.

Mayans MC follows EZ Reyes, a former golden boy now fresh out of prison, as a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the California-Mexico border who must carve out his new outlaw identity. Sutter recently shared a behind the scenes photo of Emilio Rivera who will be reprising his Sons role of  Marcus Alvarez, the president of the Mayans Motorcycle Club. The series also stars JD Pardo, Law & Order: SVU alum Danny Pinto, Richard Cabral, Clayton Cardenas, Michael Irby, Edward James Olmos, Sarah Bolger, and Antonio Jaramillo.

While an official premiere date has yet to be announced, fans are sure to get some intel next month when the cast rolls up to San Diego Comic-con. Mayans is expected to premiere this fall on FX.
