Those on the fence about purchasing Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 are in luck as Activision and Treyarch have announced that there will be a free trial beginning on Thursday for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

The trial, referred to as the Blackout Free Trial, consists of Call of Duty: Black Op 4’s Battle Royale mode and features all the characters, locations, weapons and gear from the full game and will run from January 17th to January 24th, 2019.

Treyarch also announced that a new update was released on Xbox One and PS4 yesterday, with the PC release coming later this week. The update includes:

  • Debut of Gauntlets and new Elixirs in Zombies on PS4
  • A new week of Featured Playlists and the addition of Elevation and Madagascar to map rotation for Black Ops Pass owners in Multiplayer
  • New-and-improved console looting interface in Blackout
  • Plus a long list of other features which Treyarch has detailed extensively on their Reddit page, which you can view here.
