The multi-talented Highmore has stepped behind the camera before. Previously, in addition to starring as Norman Bates, he served as a writer on two episodes and director for another on Bates Motel. This will be his first time working behind-the-scenes on The Good Doctor and fans cannot wait to see what Highmore can do off-screen in addition to his impeccable performances on-screen.
Season 2 is said to focus on Dr. Shaun Murphy’s (Highmore) challenges at the hospital, as well as on his relationship with his love interest (and returning fan favorite character) Lea (played by Paige Spara). While that might be the case, according to Highmore himself, Shaun’s relationship with Dr. Aaron Glassman (played by Richard Schiff) is really the heart of the season two story.
