‘Fortnite’ Season 8 Challenges – Week 1!
Published on March 3rd, 2019 | Updated on March 9th, 2019 | By FanFest
Hello Fortniters! With the dawning of a new season of content we are back to run down exactly what you need to do each week in order to get so awesome stuff! Epic decided to give everyone a chance to get the season 8 battlepass for free if you did some challenges through the two week waiting period between seasons, so we will continue to try and get this up as soon as we can in order to help you get that sweet XP!
Here are this weeks challenges!
- Visit all seven pirate camps
This is your normal run of the mill challenge. With the pirate theme added to this season, several pirates camps have been put on the map. Six are in somewhat of a circle in the inner map, with one in the center. Simply run by and watch for a notification to pop!
- Search seven chests at Retail Row or Junk Junction
Another easy one. All you have to do is listen for that glorious music that signifies a chest is near when you drop down on one of the two locations above and be the first to open it. You do not even have to get the stuff from it! It is always easier to do this if you land at one of these places than to go by later. Junk Junction may not have much loot, but it is safer than Retail Row, which tends to be packed with chests and draws lots of attention.
- (Stages) Deal damage with a shotgun and explosive weapon, then a pistol and assault rifle, then a sub machine gun and sniper rifle
This one can be a bit tough unless you play the right match. You have to do each thing in a different match, but you have to pick up the right loot to get these things done. Just look above and you will see what you have to do. Unfortunately you have to do both things in a match, but fortunately you only have to do damage. My suggestion? Do a Team Rumble or 50 vs 50 match. Better loot and a better chance to deal some damage with two weapons given respawning.
- Visit a giant face in the desert, the jungle, and the snow
Epic thought it would be fun to make you look for faces they have carved into hills. You can look for the desert one where the crown of vehicles are stuck down towards the sea below Paradise Palms. The jungle one can be found east of Sunny Steps. The last one can be found if you head west of Lucky Landing. As per usual, landing there will be the easiest thing to do.
- Use a Volcano Vent in five different matches
Easy easy easy. As you play any mode, drop close to the new volcano on the map to find holes filled with bubbling water. Similar to the purple energy coming from holes in season 7, if you jump on them they will give you a little boost to redeploy and float away towards your next destination. This challenge does require you to do this once a match for five matches.
- Get an elimination with a shotgun, assault rifle, and an explosive weapon
My favorite except for not. The old elimination challenge returns. This one is at least a bit simpler in that you can get these eliminations anywhere and anytime. The easiest way yet again is with respawn modes like Team Rumble. Another way to get help? The new party assist function where you can chose a challenge for a friend to help with. Then when they do it, you get it to.
- Deal 200 damage to a vehicle driven by an opponent
This one is definitely not as easy with planes being a thing of past seasons, not to mention several other vehicles being taken away. This season we will have to figure this one out, but a solo or duos mode may make sense. That and hiding by an ATV.
There are your challenges for the week! Have you gotten yours done yet? Do you like some of the new features this season? Tell us all about it in the comments below!
