Flash Villains From Screen to Page: Weather Wizard

This is part two of from screen to page if you missed part one we talked about the most terrifying gorilla to exist in the DC universe Grodd! Lets continue down our path to learn more about some of our favorite villains appearing on CW’s The Flash and their comic book inspiration. Mark Mardon was first introduced to Flash viewers as the brother of Clyde Mardon, who appeared in the very first episode. Both brothers were trying to escape Joe and his partner at the time of the particle accelerator explosion, both were presumed dead when their chopper went down until Clyde’s return. Clyde was ultimately stopped by The Flash and Joe West. When Mark reappears and learns of his brothers death he is out for vengeance. He was an interesting bad the first time you saw him, then Barry runs back in time and takes him down before he really gets going! When all the metas are in danger due to Reverse Flash’s plan to get home, Barry consults with the Snart siblings who of course back stab him and free the metas. Mardon is one of the only rouges who is driven by sheer revenge, first to Joe West then the Flash for foiling his plans to get Joe. Mark’s powers are more powerful and than his brothers had been, or maybe Mark is just more skilled. Barry uses a wand Cisco makes to neutralizing the surrounding particles that he could use to create weather, this is effective but The Trickster has a back up plan. The trickster has bombs that will go off unless Barry lets the two rouges kill him and he agrees. The S.T.A.R. labs crew ends up saving the day there, this is the second time Mardon almost defeats The Flash making him one of the most successful bad guys on the Flash.

Mark Mardon in the comics is a little different then who we see on our TV’s, the main difference is not all Meta’s were created during the particle accelerator explosion. Mark also may not be a meta in the comics. Where our TV Weather Wizard was able to use the weather wand to enhance his powers the comic Weather Wizard has to use it, it is the source of his power. Mark Mardon is a member of Flash’s Rouges Gallery and battles against everyone who has worn the crimson and gold! Like most of The Rouges The Weather Wizard is driven a little more by greed then vengeance, he is a bad guy for the sake of using his powers and robbing banks ect. Wally West and Mark Mardon have a hard relationship, there is a time in the comics that Wally thinks he has a child with Julie Jackam a police officer he had a relationship with, turns out that the child is Mardon’s from a one night stand. Mardon’s son does have powers more similar to his tv counter part, he is able to harness weather without the help of the wand!
