The Flash Recap ‘The Last Temptation of Barry Allen Pt. 2’
Now that Barry has given in to Ramsay’s infection, Team Flash must figure out how to save him and stop the wave of “zombies” attacking Central City. Cisco has a plan to stop Ramsay, but the tech isn’t finished and hasn’t been tested. Iris is hesitant to use it since they don’t know what will happen. It could kill Barry and all the others under Ramsay’s control. That’s when Barry calls out to Iris, asking her to come home. Cisco is against her leaving, but Iris goes anyway.
Ramsay as Barry talks to Iris, telling her she isn’t a good wife since she’s so willing to bury her husband in the coming Crisis. Of course, that’s not what Iris wants to do, but Barry’s mind has been twisted by Ramsay. He lifts his hand, ready to phase into her chest and kill her. But he stops, saying it’ll come in time. Back at S.T.A.R. Labs, Cisco has completed his device and it’s time to test it out. When he goes up against Flash and Ramsay, the gun is broken. Barry is about to kill him, but he suddenly stops. Cisco is spared.
That’s when Cisco and Iris realize that Barry is still inside, fighting off Ramsay. With both Iris and Cisco, Barry told them something that only he would know. And as the final assault begins on S.T.A.R. Labs, they realize what Barry is trying to do. He wants Allegra to use her powers to sweep the city and break Ramsay’s infection. Of course, Allegra doesn’t have much confidence in her abilities. After a pep talk from Frost, though, she gives in to her powers and saves the city. With the infection gone, Team Flash traps Ramsay and his nightmare is over.
As Crisis approaches, the team sits in the S.T.A.R. Labs lounge and talk about the good times. Caitlin tells Barry that he saved her. Before he arrived, she was completely lost. Ronnie’s death had broken her. Cecile remembers H.R. Wells telling her that Barry’s superpower isn’t speed, it’s hope. Iris admits that she would have Cisco vibe her back to the time of her and Barry’s first kiss. No matter what will happen during Crisis, they will move forward and remember the good times. They are a family.
