Vin Diesel has revealed a new cast member for Fast & Furious 10. The main storyline of the Fast saga is coming to a close, with the series’ tenth major film beginning with Fast 10. Fast & Furious 10 is set to premiere in 2023, and filming will soon begin on Fast 11, according to director Justin Lin.
The franchise has outgrown its street racing roots and evolved into a mega-budget action-adventure entertainment, having debuted in 2001 with Rob Cohen’s original The Fast and the Furious. Fast & Furious 10 is set to be the first part of Dominic Toretto and his crew’s final adventure, inspired by Marvel Studios’ use of the Infinity Saga’s conclusion in Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War. Fast 10 will be followed by Fast 11 to complete the trilogy, as the two movies will be “chapters” of the same narrative. Charlize Theron’s Viper is expected to be the film’s overall bad guy, while Lin will return to direct both movies. While narrative details are presently limited, Fast 10 and 11 are anticipated to feature Viper as the films’ main antagonist.More castings are expected to arrive soon, with recent additions include Game of Thrones and Dune actor Jason Momoa in the Fast & Furious franchise for Fast 10 as an unknown role, and more casting announcements anticipated.
In a brand-new video shared on his official Instagram account, Diesel provided an update about Fast & Furious 10. Mr. Bell revealed that filming on the film will begin very soon, remarking that it was “only minutes away.” Diesel also stated that the Fast 10 “hasn’t had any cast additions yet, but they’re great and will make this episode really, really exciting,” but he didn’t offer a hint as to who might appear.
Dwayne Johnson is a lock to be excluded from any future casting news for Fast & Furious 10 since he’s already said that he won’t reprise his role as Luke Hobbs in the tenth movie. Diesel’s public plea for the former wrestler to reprise his role as Luke Hobbs has been denied, despite The Rock’s prior statement that he will not return to the main Fast & Furious franchise owing to its off-screen rivalry. So far, there’s been no indication when the potential Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw 2 would be released, but it will be fans’ best chance to see Johnson in his Fast role again. Nonetheless, there are numerous individuals who wish to be a part of the Fast & Furious film series, especially considering how popular and lucrative it has been in the last decade. Fans of the franchise will be ecstatic to learn that some old favorites may return for “la familia’s” next mission in Fast 10, with Sung Kang’s Han returning in F9, setting a precedent for this surprise comeback.
It’s fascinating to consider who else might be a part of the Fast saga via Fast & Furious 10. Assuming the sequel is planned to include the main cast of F9, including Aquaman himself, then adding even more new faces to this already star-studded film will make for a crowded ensemble. It’s possible that the film will be overpacked with new characters, leaving the series’ core cast with less screen time in their final appearances. Lin and his team will be revealed when Fast & Furious 10 debuts next year.
