Imagine getting to make an in-depth documentary about your favorite film, equip with cast and crew interviews and visits to filming locations. This dream became a reality for John Campopiano and Justin White who have created Unearthed & Untold: The Path to Pet Sematary. This five-year project examines the Mary Lambert film Pet Sematary, which is based on the novel by Stephen King. The film was released in 1989 and stars Dale Midkiff, Denise Crosby, and Fred Gwynne.
According to the official Facebook page, Unearthed is an independent documentary that delves into the making of the film and the origin of the King’s story, all with interviews from the cast and crew. The documentary also explores filming locations in Maine, as well as interviews with the locals.
The documentary had a DVD release in May, but will be getting a digital release this Friday on Amazon Instant, Google Play, iTunes, Sony PlayStation, VUDU, and XBOX Live. It is already available for preorder on iTunes, with an exclusive look at bonus features coming later this month.
Unearthed & Untold is distributed by Terror Films and was directed, written, and produced by Campopiano and White. Watch the trailer here.
