Even Teen Titans Go! hates Jared Leto’s Joker, which has gotta be rough for the actor. It’s no secret that Jared Leto‘s Joker caused some… discussions amongst DC fans. His clown prince of crime was just so strange and different. In my opinion, he wasn’t like The Joker at all.
Jared Leto originally portrayed the Joker for 2016’s Suicide Squad. He most recently appeared in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. He appeared at the end of the film in the weird Knightmare timeline to deliver a very important message.
“We live in a society.” he can be heard saying, even in the Snyder Cut trailer.
The episode of Teen Titans Go! in question pretty much portrayed every version of the clown prince of crime. The episode is titled “Pig In A Poke” which features the Joker stealing all of Starfire’s money through an internet scam.
Cyborg impersonated Jack Nicholson’s Joker, Beast Boy does Heath Ledger and Mark Hamil, but the guards guarding the Joker’s hideout don’t believe it’s him. So Robind does what he has to do and dons the Jared Leto version. Does it work? Well, you can find out for yourselves.
You can’t just put on some tattoos and some fake teeth and make me think that you’re some kind of crazy person,” Cyborg says, scolding Robin. “The no one is buying it,” Starfire concludes.
What’s even funnier is the fact that this might be the last time we ever see Leto’s Joker. As of now, with the way DC films are going, we don’t know whether or not he’ll appear in a future film. It’s not looking good though.
Reports say that DC has no interest in continuing any film set in the “SnyderVerse”. This is disappointing, but based on their actions lately it feel like their minds are made up.
At the very least, it’s funny that Even Teen Titans Go! Hates Jared Leto’s Joker. Don’t get us wrong, he’s an amazing actor it’s just that… the no one is buying it. Jared Leto did discuss it though!
“I think in the next 10 or 20 years we’re gonna keep seeing these amazing interpretations and so many different people get to steep in those shows,” Leto told Deadline. “These Marvel, DC, yeah, they’re popcorn movies but sometimes they’re a little bit more. Sometimes they start to reflect who and what we’re all about in our times. Sometimes they’re Shakespearean. It’s quite amazing that these characters were written 50, 60, 70 years ago and we’re still obsessed with them.”
If you want something to look forward to, there is brighter news on the horizon. Teen Titans Go! will be crossing over with DC Superhero Girls! Tara Strong, a voice actress working on both shows, spoke to ComicBook.com to discuss it.
“The crossover is the biggest party in animation history,” Strong said. “Ok, maybe not the biggest, but there are big adventures, lots of craziness, plenty of funny mishaps, and also there’s muffins.”
