There was no way Sandra Oh was going to win her well-deserved and history-making Golden Globe award without some love from her “person”. Grey’s Anatomy legend Ellen Pompeo had some sweet words to share for her former co-star on Twitter after Oh’s Sunday night win and it’ll make you want a Grey’s reunion immediately.
Re-tweeting Oh’s post-win photo of her, her Globe, and a bunch of demolished room service, Pompeo commented: “This is a pretty sweet sight I gotta say…. @IamSandraOh no one deserves this more 💯❤️.” Check it out below!

Oh and Pompeo played the tequila-loving best friends and “twisted sisters” Meredith Grey and Cristina Yang for ten seasons on Grey’s Anatomy before Oh left in 2014 to pursue other projects, which led her to Killing Eve. The pair had plenty of dark and challenging issues but they always dropped everything for the other person and danced it out. There have been a lot of relationships to walk through the halls of Seattle Grace, but theirs was by far the best.
Pompeo wasn’t the only one to congratulate Oh. Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes also sent the alum her congratulations.
I am so incredibly happy for @IamSandraOh tonight. Well-deserved. Overdue. She is always best actress, y’all. Always.

Oh’s win in the Best Actress in a TV Drama category for her turn as Eve Polastri in Killing Eve not only marked her second Golden Globe (she won in the Supporting Actress category for Gery’s Anatomy in 2006), but she became the first actress of Asian descent to walk away with that award since 1981. Oh also served as host for the evening alongside Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Andy Samberg, making her the first person of Asian descent to host the Golden Globes.
Congrats to Oh on her award and Grey’s Anatomy on it’s just extended 15th season!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
