Back in 2006, James Gunn made his movie directorial debut with a horror comedy called Slither starring Nathan Fillion, Michael Rooker, and Elizabeth Banks. Now over 10 years later the Guardians of the Galaxy director is gleefully teaming back up with Banks (Pitch Perfect, The Hunger Games) for a new untitled horror movie.
“Elizabeth and I have been on the same artistic page since we first met when she auditioned for Slither back in 2005.She’s since remained one of my best friends in the world, and I’ve been fighting tooth and nail to work with her again. She’s the perfect partner to Yarvo, the H Collective and myself in creating this very special project,” Gunn said.
The film will be written by Brian and Mark Gunn and directed by David Yarovesky (The Hive). It will be produced by Gunn’s production company Troll Court Entertainment as well as The H Collective. While there aren’t any plot details as of now, we can expect them soon as the movie is set to start filming in the spring!
Are you excited to see Gunn and Banks team back up?
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
