Teen Wolf alum and Maze Runner star Dylan O’Brien has a new movie in the works. After taking a bit of a hiatus since wrapping the Maze Runner series, it was announced today that O’Brien had officially signed on to star in Christopher MacBride’s new film The Education of Fredrick Fitzell.
The Education of Fredrick Fitzell follows a man named Fred (O’Brien) who “slowly begins to unravel a long-hidden mystery about a missing girl, a drug called Mercury, and a terrifying creature that has now followed him into adulthood. As past, present, and future begin to intersect and parallel each other, Fred explores all the possible lives he could lead. Which one will he choose?”
Producer Lee Kim had this to say about the project:
The script is unlike anything I’ve read, Chris has crafted a unique, brilliant story – one that transcends genre and provides a surreal snapshot of a man on the brink of collapse. It’s a testament to his writing, vision and characters that we have such an amazing cast lined up. I’m excited to help bring this to life.
It Follows’ Maika Monroe will be starring alongside O’Brien and the pair will begin filming this summer.
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
