Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Grants Wishes on the Set of Disney’s ‘Jungle Cruise’

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood today, but it’s his big ol’ heart that never ceases to amazes us! Though Johnson keeps himself super busy making blockbuster film after blockbuster film, the star always seems to make time for the things that really matter to him – one of which is making his fans smile.

On Tuesday, Johnson shared some touching photos from the set of his upcoming movie Disney’s Jungle Cruise which will, without a doubt, make everyone smile. Johnson recently partnered with an organization known as Make-A-Wish, a non-profit which helps to grant the wishes of children who have been diagnosed with critical illnesses.

The organization’s website describes the impact of granting these wishes best. It says, “A wish come true helps children feel stronger, more energetic, more willing and able to battle their critical illnesses. For many, the wish marks a turning point in the fight against their illnesses. Doctors, nurses and other health professionals say, the wish experience works in concert with medicine to make their patients feel better emotionally and even physically. That is why wishes matter. That is why we grant wishes.”

For Johnson, this is actually his eighteenth year working with the organization and granting the wishes of the children whose wish it was to meet the actor. The photos from Johnson’s Instagram account show the actor engaging with the children, who are sporting beaming, ear to ear smiles, signing autographs and all-in-all, just having a great time. In Johnson’s photo caption, he says that he’s lucky to have the opportunity to make these wishes come true. He writes, “MAKE A WISH DAY Happy tears from the parents and more importantly, happy smiles from the kids. This is my 18th year of granting wishes of teens and little kids whose wish is to meet this big, brown, bald, tattooed, lucky SOB. Amazing day of wishes as our kids flew in from all over the country to hang w/ me on set of our Disney’s JUNGLE CRUISE. These strong kids and their families have had a hard, tough road. Nothing like makin’ em smile and feel GREAT. Best part of fame.”

Check out the super adorable and touching photos below.

Johnson is set to star in the live-action film along with Emily Blunt. The film is based on the classic and beloved Disney Parks ride, the Jungle Cruise. The Jungle Cruise ride first opened in Disneyland in 1955. Since then, it has become a Disney staple in its theme parks around the world. The ride offers a scenic boat tour of the most exotic and exciting rivers across Asia, Africa, and South America.

While details regarding the film are few and far between, we do know that Johnson and Blunt are expected to be sailing the Jungle Cruise to the box office on October 11, 2019.
