Dragon Quest is celebrating a pretty big birthday! The amazing RPG series has been around a long time. Longer than Final Fantasy, in fact, if you can believe that. The series is turning 35, which is awesome. To celebrate a Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake was announced!
Square Enix put on a special stream to announce a ton of awesome information. They actually announced the newest mainline Dragon Quest game there in addition to a few others. Dragon Quest XII: The Flames Of Fate is coming out at some point in the future. They didn’t announce what consoles it was coming for, either.
The Dragon Quest 3 Remake will come out a bit sooner than the twelfth game, we assume. That’s just based on the fact that we’ve seen footage of the actual game, so don’t take our word as gospel!
The remake will be done with the same kind of HD-2D style that Octopath Traveler received. The still in development Project Triangle Strategy will be using that exact same style as well. That last game is a strategy RPG though, not a turn-based one.
There is actually and I’m going to put it below so you guys can watch it for yourselves!
This isn’t the only Dragon Quest game that was announced! The aforementioned Dragon Quest XII will be coming, of course, at some point. Beyond that, there is also a Dragon Quest XI spin-off coming.
Dragon Quest Treasures will feature Erik and Mia from DQ11 and the siblings will “embark on an RPG treasure hunting adventure in another world.” The game is set before the events of Dragon Quest 11.
There will be some stuff related to the online Dragon Quest title that will not apply to North America, sadly.
Finally, we’re going to get Dragon Quest Keshi Keshi. The game is a puzzle game that will release for IOS and Android. There’s a trailer for that too, and we’ll put that right below this.
