Domhnall Gleeson Says ‘Star Wars Episode IX’ is “Epic”

Domhnall Gleeson may have just dropped the only hint we will have for a long time, about the next Star Wars films, and although it’s just one word, it certainly has people buzzing.

J.J. Abrams, directed Star Wars The Force Awakens, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi is hard at work on Episode IX. Colin Trevorrow had been set to direct the final film in this trilogy-but then Lucasfilm parted ways with Trevorrow, only to bring back Abrams for the final film. Abrams’ first two films were received well and fans were for the most part relieved when it was announce Abrams would be back.

Production on the film only began about a month ago, but apparently its already shining brightly enough to get excited about it.

Domhnall Gleeson is certainly ready to share it with us. At the premiere of his new project, The Little Stranger, he told Variety’s Brent Lang that he is back filming and that it’s going to be epic.

Gleeson plays General Hux in the latest Star Wars Trilogy, and he will be reprising that role in the final film.

Take this what it is though, a tease. The plotlines, pictures and secrets are likely to stay hush hush for a while. We can probably not expect our first trailer until spring of 2019.

Star Wars: Episode IX’s release is planned for December 20th, 2019.
