Does Harrison Ford want his Characters to Die?

Harrison Ford has some of the most iconic movie roles ever, no one can argue with that, so this little tidbit came as quite a shock.
As it turns out, Ford has wanted Han Solo to die for quite some time. Like 30 years.
“I’ve been arguing for Han Solo to die for about 30 years… Not because I was tired of him or because he’s boring, but his sacrifice for the other characters would lend gravitas and emotional weight,” Ford told EW.com.
That makes a lot of sense because that’s exactly what Han’s death did. But what about Blade Runner 2049 set to release this year or Indiana Jones 5 coming in 2019? Does he want to “retire” these characters off as well?
Ford had no comment for Indiana Jones but had this to say about Blade Runner’s Rick Deckard. He compared Rick to Han saying that “In both cases it was 30 years or more from the original, and just by acknowledging it and not running away from the reality of the passage of time, it becomes interesting to play that character again.”
There is no other word on the fates of Deckard or Jones at this time.
