Doctor Strange To Return In ‘Thor: Ragnarok’
Thor: Ragnarok just got Strange. Pardon the bad pun, but you get the gist.
Thanks to a posting on the Disney Fan Expo website, D23, it is now confirmed that Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise his role as the Sorcerer Supreme in Thor: Ragnarok, hitting theaters this Fall. According to the website, the synopsis reads as follows:
“Thor: Ragnarok in November brings together Thor, The Hulk, and Doctor Strange to face off against intergalactic baddies, both familiar and new.”
While official, it’s unsurprising that Strange will appear in Ragnarok, given that the post-credit scene in Doctor Strange featured The God of Thunder himself (Chris Hemsworth) asking Strange for assistance, as well as set photos showing Hemsworth holding what appears to be Strange’s calling card, if you will.
Cumberbatch can currently be seen in the fourth season of Sherlock, airing Sunday nights on PBS here in the States.
