Doctor Strange 2: Do We Know Who The Villain Is!? It Sounds Like We Might! It Might Surprise You Too!

Doctor Strange 2 has wrapped production and the release date is quickly approaching. Not as quickly as some fans would hope, but with a little patience we’ll all get there together! There have been no trailers and surprisingly few leaks but… do we know who the villain is? Based on a new report, we actually might!

If this is true this is the biggest news we’ve gotten on the film in some time. Please, do take this with a grain of salt though as nothing is confirmed. It most likely won’t be confirmed until Marvel and Disney are ready, either.

Still, the speculation is fun and if we’re lucky then this news will actually pan out to be true. This report comes from The Illuminerdi and they claim the Shuma Gorath is going to be introduced into the MCU in Doctor Strange And The Multiverse Of Madness. They also claim that they are going to be the primary antagonists of Doctor Strange 2.

According to them, they even have some details regarding the Shuma Gortah’s plans for the film. Apparently, they want to capture America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) to use her ability to travel through the multiverse.

The Shuma Gorath is usually portrayed as a mess of tentacles and it exists across dimensions. It sounds like if it got its tentacles on America Chaves, this monster could be extra dangerous which would obviously be bad for our heroes.

As we mentioned above, none of this has been confirmed yet, but we’re hoping it’s true. There are a few things we do know for sure about the movie, though.

Benedict Cumberbatch will return as Doctor Strange and will be joined by Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch. The film will, most likely, pick up on plot threads left hanging in WandaVision. The film will also introduce America Chavez into the MCU.

The WandaVision post-credits scene gave us some hints as to what to expect. Wanda might be looking for real versions of her kids that exist in the multiverse. It’s easy to imagine America Chavez fitting into that plotline, and the same applies to Shuma Gorath.

These are all rumors for now, but at least they’re plausible. Do you think we know who the villain is?

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled to hit theaters on March 25, 2022.
