We can already tell that this film will have a delightful spirit true to the Hundrd Acre Wood. It will hold many positive messages, including the already apparent, that growing up often includes realizing what your childhood loves really mean to you.
Disney not only dropped the trailer for Mary Poppins during the Oscars. They also slyly revealed this poster, signaling the upcoming film based on Pooh Bear’s young owner, Christopher Robin.
Directing the honey loving bear’s friends is Marc Forster, who directed Finding Neverland as well. It will focus on a grown up Christopher Robin, and we can likely expect a true to fantasy depiction of more of our favorite friends from the Hundred Acre Wood!
The cast will include Hayley Atwell as Christopher Robin’s wife Evelyn and Bronte Carmichael as their daughter Madeline. Mark Gatiss will play his boss, Keith Winslow.
As far as the critters go, Jim Cummings will return as the voice of Pooh, which in itself will take us back to the Pooh we know-because he was also the voice of Pooh in his early cartoons. The cast also includes Chris O’Dowd (Tigger), Brad Garrett (Eeyore), Toby Jones (Owl), Nick Mohammed (Piglet), Peter Capaldi (Rabbit), and Sophie Okonedo (Kanga).
Christopher Robin will bounce into theaters on August 3rd! What did you think of the trailer?
