‘Death Stranding’ Will Release November 8th, Digital Pre-Orders Now Live

We came, we saw, we still do not know what the heck it is.

Death Stranding finally has a release date, and it will be in your hands on November 8th. PlayStation Twitch had us all waiting this morning as handprints revealed the new trailer. Here it is for your viewing pleasure!

So as you can tell this is all very tough to dissect given Kojima’s love for the extremely weird. The game looks to be set in America at least. The main character Sam (Norman Reedus) seems to know the president and might just be the key to fixing everything. Cannot say I am sure what needs to be fixed, but the Death Stranding seems to be a catastrophic event.

This event seems to have bound our world with another or with the dead or something. You appear to be fighting terrorists who use some of it to their own power, and also fight what are referred to as “BTs”. I highly doubt they are Bluetooth. The babies we see look to be used in order to “connect” and “sense” these apparitions and the other side.

We also are shown some gameplay in the trailer, focusing on equipment as well as some combat and stealth. There is a really interesting moment where Sam appears to be in a World War. Not only was there some stealth, but Sam is using a firearm on an enemy. Plenty of shades of Metal Gear’s look and feel are here, including the way the trailer transitions.

The entire trailer drives home being connected, that our ties are what matter. I may be guessing, but I will call Mads Mikklesen’s character as the bad guy. Troy Baker plays a character named Higgs that may also fit the bill. In any case, I still do not know what is happening at all, but I cannot wait to play it.

Death Stranding will be arriving on November 8th, 2019 as mentioned above. It will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Pro. You can now pre-order the game digitally, and some storefronts like GameStop have already been ordering the game.
