Since the premiere of Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War, fans have been wondering just how far Thanos’ destruction has traveled.
Spoiler alert for the end of Infinity War, in the final minutes of the film, When Thanos snaps his fingers while wearing the Infinity Gauntlet, more than half of our heroes tragically turn to dust. Whether or not they are lost forever will remain unknown until we see the untitled Avengers 4 film, but what if Thanos’ mighty snap could reach beyond the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
What if Thanos’ snap impacted a closely neighboring universe like Deadpool’s 20th Century Fox universe? Who, from the Deadpool 2 cast of characters would survive and who would be turned into dust? As it turns out, the Deadpool 2cast themselves have some thoughts on this. Recently, the Huffington Post sat down with the cast and asked them that exact question. Did your character survive Thanos’ infamous Infinity War snap?
First to quickly answer was Colossus actor Stefan Kapičić. While he answered quite confidently with a definite, “definitely survived,” Reynolds, as it seems, had a complete and total different answer prepared. Reynolds quickly rebutted by saying, “What? Please, you were the first to die. Dishonorably, I might add. No one could survive the Thanos snap.”
Zazie Beetz, who played the eternally lucky Domino in Deadpool 2 interjected, “I could.” The entire cast seemed to agree with that answer.
Reynolds then took the conversation to an entirely different level. Instead of focusing on whether or not he thinks Deadpool himself would survive, he turns the conversation to a hysterical visual of the threatening Thanos. Reynolds said, “I picture Thanos snapping menacingly to music like ‘West Side Story’ or something. So for me, it’s a weirder version.”
Now that we’re all picturing Thanos snapping through the streets with the Sharks and the Jets singing along in the background, last to weigh in was Karan Soni who plays Dopinder, the cab driver. Based on his close off-screen relationship with Josh Brolin, Soni feels that he has the best bet of surviving the dreaded snap. Soni said, “I feel like I’m pretty tight with Josh [Brolin], so I might survive. I think we bonded by the end of it. We DM each other a lot. I feel good about my odds.”
