David Harbour Teases First ‘Hellboy’ Trailer Dropping This Week!

This week is about to go to hell, literally!

Finally, after what seems like an eternity of waiting, the first look at the upcoming new Hellboy film will be released this Thursday. Film star David Harbour teased fans on Monday with posts on his social media pages announcing the trailer drop date.

Harbour posted, “Awwwww, crap… Look who’s coming in April. No, not the 50% still left of the Avengers – hell, that’s practically May… April 12th showers bring one Big Red Flower, beast of the apocalypse, The right hand of doom, the buttkicker of the BPRD, and a host of all kinds of big ole giants and witches and fairies and janky overgrown ugly pig monsters from your nightmares. Trailer drops Thursday #aboutdamntime #hellboy”

Shortly after Harbour’s post, the official Twitter account for the Hellboy film also dropped a super hot teaser! Check it out:

At New York Comic Con back in October, attendees at the Hellboy panel were treated to an exclusive first look at the film. No word on whether or not this would be that same footage which set NYCC on fire, or if this is a newly cut trailer.

In addition to Harbour, the upcoming film also stars Milla Jovovich as Nimue the Blood Queen, Ian McShane as Professor Broom, Sasha Lane as Alice Monaghan, Penelope Mitchel as Ganeida, and Daniel Dae Kim as Daimio.

Created by Mike Mignola in 1993, the Hellboy comic series centers around a demon summoned by the Nazis during World War II from a portal to a paranormal dimension. Years later, the demon is all grown up and is serving as an agent to protect America from dark and evil forces. The first film in the franchise was released in 2004 and starred Perlman, Selma Blair, and Doug Jones. A sequel to the film was released in 2008.

The official synopsis for the upcoming new film is listed below:

[row]“The film is about Hellboy going to England, where he must defeat Nimue, Merlin’s consort and the Blood Queen. But their battle will bring about the end of the world, a fate he desperately tries to turn away.”[/row]

Hellboy will begin heating up the box office on April 12, 2019.
