Hey, Richonne fans! Grab your tissues for this one because it’s about to get a little bit dusty in here if you know what I mean.

The Walking Dead fans have been on an emotional rollercoaster over the past two months with everything finally coming to a head over the weekend at San Diego Comic-Con. Series star Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes on the series, personally confirmed his anticipated departure from the series as well as address fans directly to express his love and appreciation for their support, for the show and for the opportunity to work with such an incredible cast and crew day in and day out.

Now that the cat is officially out of the bag, other cast members have begun to speak out and pay tribute to their co-worker, friend, and leader. Pollyanna McIntosh, who plays Jadis on the series, previously posted to her social media pages saying, I’m a lucky bugger for getting to work with him as much as I do and to get to know this honest, talented, funny, generous man and his gorgeous family who will be so happy to spend more time together, which is what they deserve.”

Now, Danai Gurira has shared her emotional thoughts on Lincoln’s departure. On Monday night, Gurira posted to her social media pages praising Lincoln by saying, “I truly believe Andrew Lincoln is the best leading man on TV. He has made us all better with his leadership, dedication, heart, and generosity. I couldn’t be thankful enough for the time I’ve gotten to work with him and learn from him. It’s been an honor, sir. #SDCC #TWDFamily”

We’re not crying. You’re crying! Ok, we’re crying a little. It’s sure to be an emotional journey over the next several months as, undoubtedly, other cast members will publically express their love and adoration for the man who led the series for soon-to-be nine seasons.

The Walking Dead will return to AMC with all new episodes starting on October 7th. Are you ready to say goodbye to Rick Grimes? Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
