Dan Aykroyd Gives Praise To ‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot
The Ghostbuster reboot starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones doesn’t hit theaters until July but, comedic legend Dan Aykroyd (star of the original Ghostbusters) recently got a peek at a screen test of the film. While the reboot has been met with much criticism from fans, even earning the trailer the title of “most disliked trailer on YouTube“, Aykroyd is saying otherwise.
Aykroyd posted his preliminary review on social media yesterday saying:
“As originator of the original: Saw test screening of new movie. Apart from brilliant, genuine performances from the cast both female and male, it has more laughs and more scares than the first 2 films plus Bill Murray is in it! As one of millions of man-fans and Ray Stantz, I’m paying to see that and bringing all my friends!”

Quite a different story than what we have been hearing based on fan reactions thus far. That being said, Aykroyd has been involved in the creation of the upcoming remake. Not only is he credited as an executive producer (and, technically a writer as well) for the film, but he and original Ghostbusters costar Bill Murray will be making cameo appearances in the reboot.
Ghostbusters will hit theaters July 15th and the original movie will be returning to theaters for a limited run on June 8th and 12th.
We want to know what you think! Are you going to see the Ghostbusters reboot?
