Madam Secretary creator Barbara Hall has announced she’s developing a new drama at CBS.

The series, titled “Ms. Mayor,” follows a young activist running for Mayor of New York. She wins and is thrust onto a political stage she was not ready for. She is determined to do right by the role with her enthusiastic ideals.

Hall will write and executive produce the project under her overall deal with CBS Television Studios.

Variety reported Hall’s three-year deal with the studio back in March. Nina Tassler, the former head of CBS Entertainment, will executive produce under her PatMa Productions banner along with PatMa’s Denise Di Novi.

Tassler and Di Novi launched independent studio PatMa Productions earlier this year with focus on diverse voices, gender parity, and giving women and people of color more opportunities both in front of and behind the camera

President and chairman of CBS, Nina Tassler worked on 1999’s Judging Amy with Hall, as well as Joan of Arcadia and Madam Secretary.

In 2015, Tassler stepped down as head of CBS Entertainment after 11 years. She was responsible for the development of CSI, among other hit series.
