3, 2, 1, let’s jam.

Cowboy Bebop, the popular anime series from the late 1990’s, has found it’s live-action Spike Spiegel.

John Cho, who is known for his role in Star Trek as Sulu, will be playing Spike, the cool bounty hunter.

Alongside Cho, Mustafa Shakir, who played Bushmaster in Marvel’s Luke Cage, will star as Spike’s ex-cop partner, Jet Black. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom‘s Daniella Pineda will also star as Faye Valentine who joins the team on the Bebop a few years after being woken up from 54 years in a cryogenic sleep.

Joining the cast is also Alex Hassell who has been casted as the main antagonist of the show, Vicious who is a notorious hitman that loves to kill.

Fans may notice that I’ve missed a particular character from the casting: The lovable Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivruski IV, or simply, Rascal Ed. While Ed has been confirmed to appear in the series, according to Variety the casting process is still ongoing.

The 10 episode series on Netflix, which has been described as a jazz-inspired and genre-bending series, will follow the bounty hunters on the Bebop as they explore space in 2071 and take down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals for the right price, of course.

The original director of the anime, Shinichiro Watanabe will serve as a consultant on the project. Christopher Yost, who penned both Thor: The Dark World and Ragnarok has been confirmed as an executive producer and the writer of the first episode. Others such as Andre Nemec, Josh Appelbaum, Jeff Pinkner, and Scott Rosenberg will serve as executive producers alongside Yasuo Miyakawa, Masayuki Ozaki, and Shin Sasaki from Sunrise Inc. the studio behind the hit anime series.
