Courteney Cox Graciously Reacts to Prince Harry’s Recollection of Taking Mushrooms at Her House

In his memoir, Prince Harry recalled partying at Courteney Cox‘s home and finding “black diamond mushroom chocolates” in her fridge. The Friends star verified that the Royal did visit her house without providing further evidence as to whether they indulged in mushrooms together or not. Furthermore, Cox mentioned having seen the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres’ vow renewal celebration-which was also de Rossi’s 50th birthday bash.

Cindy Cox revealed to Variety ahead of her Hollywood Walk of Fame star unveiling that she was able to enjoy the company and hospitality of Harry for a few days. She praised him as an incredibly kind person, though she has yet to read his book – but is looking forward to listening in soon because it’s said be quite enjoyable. Furthermore, Cindy shared about hearing tales from Harry about mushrooms!

“I’ve heard about it,” Cox replied. “But no, I didn’t have mushrooms! Of course not,” she declared emphatically. Additionally, when Cox attended de Rossi’s birthday party – although she saw Harry there in deep conversations with other people- they did not get the chance to talk.

Harry recollects in Spare that, while partying with his companions in L.A., they were invited over to Cox’s place by a friend and he was pumped as it felt like “crashing at Monica’s house”. The group of revelers grew larger when Will Arnett, who only gets mentioned as an actor from The LEGO Batman Movie joined them. Harry says that Arnett greeted him in his iconic Batman voice and proceeded to show him the exquisite black diamond mushroom chocolates inside Cox’s fridge.

“I heard somebody in the background saying it was for everybody,” Harry noted. “Help yourselves, guys,” he added and Arnett decided against indulging. However, Harry detailed that he sampled some himself; ultimately leading to a psychedelic trip while inside Cox’s restroom. While there, his perception changed drastically as her silver trash can suddenly started speaking directly to him!

Spare featured many anecdotes from Vermazen’s life revolving around Friends, including the time he had to fold his own laundry while tuning into the show. “People always thought that I preferred my single lifestyle because it was full of glamour,” he wrote. “The reality is far more mundane: there were so many nights where I daydreamed that people could see me in this moment; folding underwear and watching ‘The One with Monica and Chandler’s Wedding.'”

Harry also mentioned having a crush on Cox, notes Entertainment Tonight. “I was still confused because she was Monica, and I was a Chandler,” Harry wrote. “I wondered if I’d ever work up the courage to tell her. Was there enough tequila in California to get me that brave?”

The role of Monica on Friends earned Cox not only seven Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations but also an Emmy nomination when she was named executive producer for the HBO Max special, Friends: The Reunion. As well as revisiting her iconic character Gale Weathers in the fifth Scream film released last year, it has just been announced that its sequel – Scream VI – will open this coming March 10th.
