With the premiere of Thor: Ragnarok just weeks away, fans have been wondering if, or how, the film will tie into Avengers: Infinity War. Infinity War has been 10 years in the making, so it’s easy to assume that Ragnarok will play a hand in laying the groundwork for the film.
Thor is a confined hero in the movie, and from what the trailer shows, he’s in a pretty bad spot. If you’ve not yet seen it, we won’t spoil much, but let’s just say Thanos has him in quite a predicament.
Ragnarok being released months before Infinity War means we’ll be able to prepare ourselves, or at least try to, before we see the epic battle on screen.
With the confirmation of Thor, some fans are also wondering if Hela will play a hand in Infinity War as well. ScreenRant was able to visit the set of Ragnarok and speak to producer Brad Winderbau about Hela being seen on the Infinity War screen.
‘Obviously we always think about the movies as standalones, even if they do set up a movie down the road or pay off something from a previous film. What we hope, if we do our jobs right, is that Hela is one of the best villains we’ve had – maybe the best, hopefully.’
He went on to talk about Cate’s performance and how the character traits she brings to Hela could definitely benefit Thanos, however, he’s not saying when.
‘Cate has been delivering an incredible performance. She’s really scary and really charming. She’s very easy to watch, very fun to be around. But very murderous and horrible at the same time. You’re right that those are things that Thanos values. But when and how she plays into the future of the universe is uncertain now.’
It’s a hopeless project, attempting to get any information about future Marvel films. However, the questions will always be asked – even if they’re never really answered.
